Does anybody know what sort of qualifications are needed to train riders for the Riding and Road Safety test?
I expect you need to be a registered instructor to train people. Is there a training course run by the BHS to train examiners too?

Raine,

If you want to get involved as a trainer, offer your assistance to your local pony club or riding club. To train people you don't need any qualifications, although people who are in charge of training can go on a training day every year to keep up to date. You could also try contacting your local BHS road safety rep who is responsible for the tests to find out how you can get more involved, or about regional training days.
I'm not sure how you get to be an examiner - I did ask the BHS last year, but I a still waiting for a response! if you find out please let me know.
