Massey was kindly put to rest at 11 this morning and is now running free.

I posted a thread a few days ago about my friends thoroughbred having terrible feet. The farrier came out to fit him with special shoes and it was only then that it became apparent it wasn't his feet that was the main concern... his tendons was packing in and he couldnt bare his weight at all, even after being buted up to the max his leg wouldnt support him and his fetlock was almost touching the floor. He got progressively worse over the next 24 hours.

It was then my friend made the decision to let him go a dignified happy horse than let him suffer. Massey was only 10 but had a hard life racing but his last 6months he was spoilt rotten.

RIP Massey xx you will be missed.

RIP Massey.

I think your friend did the right thing, letting him go with his dignity rather then waiting for him to get worse.
He was blessed to have an owner like that!

xx
