A chance for the public to attend RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) HQ Open Weekend and see how we save lives at sea, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

There will be multiple displays, demonstrations and lots of fun for children. Discover what it takes to train our crews and lifeguards, and how we design and equip our lifeboats.

• lifeboat tours
• lifeguard and lifeboat displays
• sea survival pool and rescue demonstrations
• lots of fun for children
• waterfront picnic area

Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July, 10am–5pm

£2 entrance fee - under 5s free.

We're a charity run almost entirely on public donations; it cost £145.4M to run the RNLI in 2010.

There are 235 Lifeboat stations & over 160 Lifeguard beaches providing a ring of safety around the coast of the UK and RoI.

Lifeboat crew and RNLI Lifeguards have saved over 139,000 lives since 2001. 97% of our people are volunteers; 4,600 volunteer crew; 3,000 volunteer shorehelpers and 35,000 volunteer fundraisers.

Please feel free to stop by & have a look around. The RNLI Open Weekend always has a great atmosphere with lots of hands on things to do and loads to watch. I'll be in the technical display area on Saturday morning & it would be lovely to see a fellow NR

Might pop along and have a look  Where abouts is it ? Christchurch or near Poole ?

We'll get down if we can but the carpets are being fitted in the other house on Monday and we are nowhere near ready. Hope it goes well.
