Never sure how to post a link to Twitter on NR but after some failed efforts here it is - video snip of Roman Cavalry with no stirrups and at least one face mask. Please do click the link.

About the masks - what we didnt know was they were worn for mounted games and the style showed your team: Trojans, Romans and Amazons.

Awesome costumes!!!:D:D:D:D:):););)
Wow!!!!

The mask must be something to get used to ...
When you see jousting as well little slits to look out of.........

And for all the protection aspect wasn't there an English king
where a sliver of a pole during a joust went right in thru the slit????

Cant remember who it was though.

My friend is in re-inactments with their horse - I've groomed for them before & it's a great day! So much fun :)

The history goes way over my head though ... :D
