Behold the sausage, in his new fly rug from Decathlon:



It may not be the most flattering, but the relief when I put it on him this morning was immediate. Poor boy, he had lots of little tiny flies crawling in what is left of his mane and around his belly. He was much much happier with it on.

My horse managed to get a wasp under his fly rug once. He had numerous stings which swelled up badly. He was then too scared to go out in the field wearing a rug. That kind of put me off!

Are poor boy, I hope that doesn't happen to Sid but he is so sensitive and itchy I think I have to cover him.

Bless him, it’s not the most flattering look.
I put Jess’s new rug on last night, I’ve had it months but been trying to put it off as long as possible.
She is now named Casper

though I suspect it won’t be quite so bright white this morning!
