Soil Testing?

Where can I get soil tested? Are those little kits (30 tests) ok to use or should I be using a company? I can't seem to find a company in essex.

I think I need to lime at least part of my paddock as some of it had buttercups last year but it has been suggested I should be doing soil tests first?

I'm also struggling to find someone to roll or harrow for me in the spring without costing me a absolute fortune (last quote just for fertilising was £45 per acre (I have 5/6 acres) The harrowing would be on top of that so dread to think how much that would have been and they didn't have a portable roller.

So I';ve decided to lime/fertilise the fields myself and carry on the search for someone to harrow/roll.

My old yo on my previous yard used to get his soil tested regular.. not sure which company he went by though.. and I have spoken to an guy who used to do such a thing.. so there are company's out there, maybe try other possible names? under agricultural maybe?

I remember looking into this a few years ago, and found these people. Their blurb offers grass testing, but not soil - perhaps they could point you in the direction of someone who does soil ( and is more local!!)
