Just out of curiosity. What kind of bits do these horses have? These are friends of mine of mine on holiday.... and just wondering if the bits are strong ????

They're curb bits of some sort, although I can't tell what. The shanks are VERY long so yes, I would imagine them being quite severe.

yep echo stormyj, but i wouldnt have thought you use the bits that much as they are probabaly used to neck reining

where is that?
looks like a place i went riding when i was in the dominican republic
they had those types at the place i went to but you werent really riding them with a contact seeing as they were neckreined

Grazing Bit
This Stainless Grazing bit allows the horse to swallow, also graze hence the name. Great leverage for stopping, this bit is super for the well behaved & schooled horse. Designed to be used with a horse that neck reins. Direct reining is not used with this bit as it does not allow for lateral control.

Yeah, me too! First time on a horse and going down a steep slope, the 'cowboys' were whacking the horses as hard as they could to make them gallop-dunno how I ever stayed on!

when i was in the dominican i rode at ermm

was so good, i loved it. just gallopping alot of the way as i was the only one that had been on a horse before ended up having mudfights with the guides:eek:
