Appley and I went on another sponsored ride today, this time with a friend and her amaze-cob. It was a very busy ride with no fixed start times so plenty of horse milling about, going at varying speeds etc etc.

really love my little poneh lots! didnt bat an eyelid at people thundering past, our ride partner gallopping off to jump big jumps, she just waited patiently :)

aaaaaand ..... AAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!

I JUMPED APPLEY OVER A LOG!!!!

as most of you know, jumping is a HUGE deal for me, and I only JUST managed a few small jumps with my older, experienced pony. appley is only 5 and had 2 jumpies lessons with a brave child on top. she's never jumped anything 'solid' before either.

after much cajoling, i trotted her at the log (which was all of a foot high ...) and she very politely popped over it (with me squealing 'wheeeeee') :giggle: (and there is video footage to prove i have ACTUALLY done this!)

and ... watched a few people struggling to load their big, fancy beasties - guess who casually strolled onto the box with a can of Pepsi in one hand, pony in the other and a carrot in my mouth (for pony once loaded) - yes, that'd be me

Pics to follow once friend sends them to me :D

Sounds great. I am considering doing a sponsored ride in October. I can hack there from my yard - I just don't know if I have the guts. They do sound like good fun though - its nice to hear about other peoples positive experiences.

here's the evidence :D bit blurry its a videostill taken against the sun ...

Well done you and poneh, it looks grat fun, and that jump is fantasic.

I am very jelous, the yard all went on a sponsered ride this summer...except us because it was too long for my stupid arm, we were nobby no mates plodding round the school.

Next year its one of our aims and objectives!!
