I haven't ridden my mare for 6 days! 
. Not only that, she hasn't been out of the field either!! I think she is missing me because each time I go into the field for cuddles, her greeting is getting "bigger" - today I got a full blown whinny and a trot over!
But.... my neglect is because our employers are away. And that means that we have brought Betty trailer round to the house for a quick makeover. Whilst she is safe, sturdy and looks OK from the outside, inside was just plain scary. With peeling paint and roof padding ripped and coconut wadding hanging out, it wasn't somewhere that I wanted Gracie to be. But that's also the reason that Betty was a bargain.
So, I've done a bit of prep work, sanding, wire brushing and patches of undercoat, but today she got her first proper coat...
Looking SO much brighter already. Second coat inside then the external black bits (wheel arches, A frame) will get a fresh coat of black gloss, the partition will be cleaned, sanded and glossed in places and I will leave it at that for now. Plan is to replace the ramp coverings with rubber matting, but that may have to wait a few weeks.
I have a new jockey wheel too but it will need a plate welding on first.
