trailer towing weight info needed!

Hi i have just bought a 4 by 4 Jeep Cheroke 2.5 turbo diesel. My trailer is a Ifor Williams trailer and can carry 2 horses. my 4L jeep could take a 16.2 hh and my lil 11.1 welsh easy enough. Would a 2.5L be ok to do it or would i just have to take my welsh and leave the 16.2hh behind?
Any advice usedfull ,thankyou

Its not the size of engine that makes you legal - its the towing weight for the car! Look in the manual.
a 2.5l diesel should be fine for power.

i thought a 2.5 L would be strong enough to tow, my friend put doubts in my head, thankyou for your advice
