I've been having my pony trot over poles to help him pick up his feet more and to round his back. Is this going to start to carry over to his regular trotting? So far he reverts back to his lazy way of trotting when he's not going over a pole. I really don't know how often to have him trot over poles and don't know if or when to expect a change?

mine does trotting poles about once a week (ridden and on the longreins) and has done for a while - it definitely improved her way of going - no idea how much or how long that took, it was a vry gradual thing ...
no idea, sorry, its just something my RI likes to build in eg. walk over them, trot over some, sometimes more, sometimes less, spaced oddly, at times raised a little etc.
