Hey! So, I haven't been riding long and have seen equestrian vaulting. I think I'd like to take it up as I've done gymnastics for years and I love horses! But, I'm not that good at riding yet, would it be dangerous to try now or should I wait until I'm better? Also, has anyone done it before? Can anyone describe their experience and give tips? Thanks!

I've done 1 or 2 vaulting lessons & I agree with @eml , you gymnastic ability is what you need more than riding ability. I rode on a lunge line with a very well behaved and knowable school mistress. The RI will control the horse and its paces for you, so you just concentrate on the rhythm and your balance. Try it, you'll fall in love with it if you like gymnastics :)

Thanks guys! I think this might be the part of riding I enjoy the most! I'll definitely give it a go, see if it's for me. It's a relief to here that riding ability doesn't play a major role!
