western treeless saddle

I quite like the look of the barefoot western saddles. And the Dartmoor. I'm thinking about buying a treeless in the UK while I'm over there, because they are so expensive and rare here!

I'm selling a size 1 barefoot cheyenne if anyones interested.

It's kind of 2 tone leather though now, as the panel on the tope faded so is brown, the rest is black, but I think it looks pretty good that way

Not western, but nice all the same. :D

its as an extra saddle.
i already have 4 treeless saddles:eek: i have 2 ansurs that i use, and i have a trekker i bought for amber and used on susie and im breaking ceryn in with it, i bought a trekker dressage as i wanted something more traditional, but i find i use my konklusion more on susie, dont ride amber at all anymore really, and i find that as susie has no shoulders the kneerolls on the dressage arnt that effective, and i can ride her better in my konklusion. ive always fancied a western saddle, and ceryn looked so cute in the trekker last night i think shed look great in a western saddle:D
so the aim is to sell the trekker dressgae and the trekker once ive seen how ceryn is being ridden, and then buy a western, unless change my mind again

I do think the arizona or the nevadas look lovely - wouldn't mind one myself for hacking, but i've got to sell my barefoot as it was Coco's saddle, and she is being sold, and Byron, needs a treed saddle, as I need something more conventional, as i'm hoping to event with him, and do some showjumping.

If your worried about kneerolls though on suzie, have you had a look at the Barefoot London, it's more conventional looking, and has some really nice kneerolls on it.

ive looked into the london, and will still consider it if i go the english route, but theyve already sold out at horse and harmony till june:eek: so id probably go the german route, unless i go with the trekker dressage master. but seen as i already have 2 english treeless saddles id love a western:D

why do you need a treed saddle for conventional?

my ansur konklusion on my ex racer:D
and theres one on ebay;) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ansur-Konklus...236354980QQcategoryZ47283QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem tho its quite expensive:eek:
ive hunted, shown, done fun rides and all sorts in mine.

I love the ansur - but i'll probably never be able to afford one, and there really hard to pick up second hand. So i'll have to opt down the treed route, where I know I can get a nice saddle, but at a lower price. Byron goes really well treed as well, and doesn't seem uncomfortable or anything, and still moves lovely. And i'm quite depserate for a saddle as he is wearing Murphy's at the moment, as he has too prominent withers and spine at the moment, to put a treeless on him.

I'm not sure if there allowed in affiliated competitions either.

Murphy has a treeless and a treed, so I still have a treeless to play with :)

they are defiantly allowed in affliated competitions, anne bondi (who has ansurs) competes in eventing http://www.ansursaddle.com/WhyGoTreeless.htm

i dont understand about the back bone being to promenant thing, my tb has huge withers and is a little underweight and she has always had a treeless on, with th correct padding its fine (i know most people think you just plonk them on as they are)
this is maddie, my ex racer (the one in the pic above

just to ad that i got mine kk secondhand and got it for £850, im not sure if i was lucky tho, seeing the price that soem of them have been going for

I've only got a barefoot, and tried it on once, with the pad from barefoot, whoch creates a 'gullet' but it was like sitting on cheesewire, and he wasn't comfy either. Theres no point me getting anything other than a conventional looking treeless, which I can't afford. :( Once he has more muscle, i'll probably use the barefoot for hacking, and a bit of schooling, and my treed saddle for competitions.

I wish I could afford an ansur, but the most I can afford to spend on a saddle is £500. So I'm gonna get a decent treed saddle, as they seem to be much cheaper second hand, and you can get a very lovely, well made saddle.

They are very lovely though.

That western saddle you showed me, is very nice! I thbink it's really hard to tell between any western treeless or treed saddle. They all look very conventional.

im just saying about the barefoot, i have a trekker and used it on maddie and my high withered wide idxtb with muscle wastage, all you need is the correct padding. i use a prolite front riser and it works just fine.
this is amber (my idxtb) in her trekker with a wintec front riser pad
