Already sorted the dinner part! Beer later. I could definitely do with one myself xDon't worry about the clip, the chances are that it wont cause any problem particularly with how mild the weather is. It all sounds promising so far, if their the sort to get wound up and silly you'd have seen it by now, instead he sounds like he's settling in nicely
A tip - if your OH gets the fencing sorted provide beer and a decent dinner, you need to keep him sweet at this stage!
Yup - a little bit of leading out is a good indicator of where their head is at, after all the kerfuffle of a move to their new home. I got so into walking Hogan out, my friend had to give me a kick to get me on him!Don’t be in a hurry to ride . Get to know each other on the ground first . If you getting on his back it will alway be better if he likes you lol. You won’t know that until you spent some time showing him he can trust you . It’s only once he trusts you that you can then in turn trust him x
How many photos did you take? I took tons of Hogan, the day he arrived! My OH glazed over at pic 54! Glad it's gone so well - enjoy! Thanks for good luck wishes everyone. So far so good. He unloaded easily, walked out into the stable and proceeded to happily munch on his hay net Obviously I've spent my whole afternoon just gazing at him! Hes been drinking happily, met his new pony neighbours in the stalls next door (a shetland and a new forest) and was calm enough to let us give him a little brush. I haven't put him on the field yet as farmer told us last minute that we need to add a little extra fencing- late night for OH on the cards!
I'm planning to go back to check on him in a couple of hours and again tonight!
Thanks for the advice re clipping @Lexi 123. He's not been bad at the minute but could well be a different story when hes out of the stable. Will make a judgement call tomorrow about whether to pop a bridle on and take him out for a walk in hand x
