What rugs?

Please don't buy stuff for your horse because folk tell you to. See if your horse actually needs it. Most horses can live outdoors 24/7 happily and healthily. If your horse has a health issue, then obviously look at how to resolve this in the best way possible but to get stuff just because others do is just throwing money down a one-way drain imho.
 
Doesn't anyone use fly spray any more? It seemed to be popular (isn't really that much up here because of the breeze so not really necessary only on still clammy days). I have used diluted deosect on Zi in the past (it says you can on the bottle).
I use it too - I'm coming to the end of my diluted deosect. I like the naff pink one - it's pretty effective.

It depends on your horse. I have just rushed over to put a rug on my veteran Arab because it is going to rain and he is prone to rain scald. My Connemara pony, alas no longer with us, never wore a rug, and my new youngster who is Highland x Cob x TB is the same.
