White fly rugs & dark horses

is it cooler for dark horses to go out in a light colored fly rug? does it reflect the sun more?

My boy is bay and going out in a white fly rug has definitely helped to keep him a bit cooler

Would have thought so. Light colours reflect the heat and dark colours absorb it.

Hey i just got my black lad a very funky GOLD turnout fly rug from ebay seems the shinny material is even better than white at reflecting the heat how groovy is that .... also he will now look like a gangster so all the others will leave him alone...came with belly rug bit neck cover AND a very funkt hat only about £30 bargin

Yes, I brought one for Lily simply for the heat and she does much better in it than out of it! She feels much cooler
