ALICE SAID 'YES'

I am absolutely DELIGHTED and cannot wait, now planning 'what' to wear
and looking for a mahoosive HAT:biggrin:

Congratulations

I hired a big hat for elder daughter's wedding, but bought a huge one for my younger daughter's. It was a bit of a damp day and the priest congratulated me on my foresight in wearing an umbrella on my head!!!! It's a gorgeous hat though - but just sitting in its box on top of my wardrobe. Can't think when I would wear it again.

Congratulations:dance:

I've been asked a few times of late, when me and Oh are going to get hitched.. We keep saying when he's finished paying for his youngest (in 3 months time:biggrin:) Then we'll start planning:happy:

I absolutely ADORE 'Hats' lol, but the only time you really get to wear
a fancy hat is a WEDDING and what better excuse to go all out than your
own SONS Wedding:biggrin:

When I got married for the second time I saw a Hat I absolutely fell in
love with. Obviously as the 'Bride' I couldn't wear it, but I got it anyway, cos
I really wanted this HAT at MY Wedding and I made my Sister wear it:giggle::giggle:

I know EXACTLY what I want to wear for this wedding and I am gonna
have great fun looking for just what I want, lol.

I want a Suit, in 'shot silk' with a long fishtail type skirt, camisole and Jacket and have seen some fabulous ones with 'matching HAT' lol. Just hope the
Wedding isn't too soon cos I need some time to save some pennies:giggle:

Put it on EBAY:wink:

I thought you found a nice stetson hat? :giggle:

HAH, that would go down well:giggle:

But 'giggle' you NOT, I wear my 'Western Hat' ALL THE TIME at the Yard:giggle: In fact, the other week
I was wearing it with my long wax coat and two Lads said to me 'You look like INDIANA JONES' I Laughed, got into my car and spun it
round, came up the Road and he shouted 'AND YOU DRIVE LIKE JAMES BOND':giggle::giggle:

Congratulations. My son got married on boxing day. We couldn't get there, it was in Cape town, I would have worn a great big, wide brimmed hat to shade me from the hot sun.

Oh Pauline, what a shame you couldn't make it, understandable though.

LOL, When I wear My Hat, I shall wear it for all Mothers who couldn't
for one reason or another although they would have like too, wear a
hat to their Child's wedding :wavespin::smile:

And YES Minesadouble, you are WRONG to want pictures already, lol, cos
I haven't bought the darn thing yet............but you will get to see
the pics as soon as I have:smoke::bounce:

Congrats to the happy couple! And well done you, looking forward to seeing the mahoosive hat

Well, apparently No.1 Son went the whole hog.

Flowers everywhere, candles everywhere, Champagne on Chill AND he went down on one Knee and did the full proposal. He had cooked all her favourite food (salmon etc.,) and she was totally GOBSMACKED, however she
still says she didn't suspect as apart from the candles etc., its not unusual for him to cook for her (Nice to hear, taught my Boys WELL :bounce:)

She said when she walked in the house everything looked fabulous and he
said he had done it initially to make New Years Eve special as she always
said she didn't like NYE:wink:

He had been ringing me all afternoon saying how 'nervous' he was, lol, which
tbh was 'good to hear' cos he is usually nothing less than ummmmmm....
CONFIDENT:bounce:

She said she still wasn't expecting the proposal until
he ran upstairs and came down with 2 dozen Red Roses and then she began
to suspect :bounce: She said she couldn't really take in what he was saying
because she was 'crying' by that time  (Ain't LOVE GRAND )

ANYWAY, Have PLENTY of time to get my HAT, lol, cos wedding is gonna
be June/July 2012 !!!!!!!!!!!

I will have probably bought TEN Hats by that time and changed my Mind :bounce:

AWWWWWWWWWWWW THAT FAB!!!!

What a lovely story, I bet you are really chuffed!!!!!!!!!

I feel you need to start a Hat thread so we can help you choose :)

I think you just may be RIGHT BNP's:bounce:

HERE is the 'type' of outfit I would like, though not necessarily in these
colours, but definately the type of 'style' I would go for. Alices Sister
got married earlier this year and when Alice and I were talking she did
say she fancied Navy and Cream for her colour scheme. Of course that
may change (Navy isn't really my sort of colouring) but I will try to stay
within the colour range of whatever she chooses and obviously attempt not
to clash with the Brides Mum:wink: I like the dress/jacket but prefer the 3 piece with a skirt, Jacket and Camisole (LOVING the pink one:wink:)

SO lets shop for HATS  I do like Fascinators, but prefer a Hat
THE BIGGER THE BETTER:bounce:
