I'm having problems with my Quarter Horse Gelding getting real quick at the trot. I've tried half halts to get him to maintain a consistent gate but to no avail.
Being that he is a Quarter Horse (a smidge higher in the rear end than at the withers) I've been told that he's heavy on the forehand. Could this have something to do with it?
I asked my instructor if I'm inadvertently asking for more speed and she said no that he is a green horse (he's 6) and that's typical.
Any ideas you guys have would be appreciated, thanks.
