How to patch a rug...

NA does it stop fraying? I am FOREVER sewing madams fly rugs up in summer... This sounds fab!

I've found it stops fraying, i've used it on turnout rugs, nylon stable rugs and fly rugs, although with the fly rugs it can stick to the material underneath it when the glue gets in the holes, so I tend to put a bit of backing material on it.

My farrier gave me a tip, which I have used since, use clear silicone, just cut patch out, place inside rip between lining and outer and seal with silicone, its great, keeps the patch waterproof and no sewing !

Gaffer tape :) and I put fluorescent tape round the bottom of the rug so I could see them in the dark. Since losing TB I haven't had to rug anything but wussy Warmblood and she's easy on the rugs

I have stitched my rips. I have a thick thread which is I think what fishermen use on nets. Cotton just snags/frays and repair comes undone.
