For those who haven't seen them before, Dan pooped out some red worm, lovely I know but I thought I would share. These are small red worm/strongyles.

When I got him home on sat I double dosed him with Strongid P equivalent, which will cover him for everything apart from encysted red worm, but equest is risky with mini's and I don't know his history and he's a bit on the poor side so I thought I would start with the milder option. Knowing that he has them now I will either equest him in a few weeks or 5 day guard, but there is resistance to that around here.

Ooh i love seeing things like this...am I strange lol
I can't wait to see what he is like after he has been given your care and attention .
I also use strongid P for rummy's winter wormer and then in the spring he gets equest the green one but I would never give him the blue equest one as I also think its too risky for the wee ones but I do give it to Marley.

@joellie I've been using it for Hank without a problem, I think the risk with any moxidectin product is that the overdose rate is much lower than with other wormers and people just don't know the ponies or foals actual weights and overdose. I don't think the combined product is of any more risk to littlies than the green one.

I seriously overdosed Hank on the blue one, I was sick and not with it but wanted to worm them anyway, I split 1 tube between them and spun the dial to dose her as she was at the gate, by the time I got there she had wondered off and Hank was there and I just stuck the 560kg dose down his 120kg neck  immediately realized and stuck a load of activated charcoal down him and called the vet, after a long night, mild ataxia and drinking lots he was absolutely fine.
