ok my son is 16 years old, he is quite small, suffers with MDS Lissencephally, has no back support and bad hips, he used to ride at the Elizabeth Svenson Trust in Sutton Coldfield but his school don't do it anymore.

Now heres the thing, he is only little and I have a shettie going to waste, Kosha is on temporary loan to my friend but due back at the end of the summer and I though it would be nice for Aeron and Kosha to work together as Kosha is small enough for me to lift Aeron on easily. The trouble is he needs at least three people to hold him on and I wondered if there was some sort of saddle little the basket seats that toddlers can have that I could look out for. All I want is for him to be able to join in as he loves sitting on them but we can't walk round as I worry that the girls will have trouble helping me hold their brother on.

There are a few RDA riders/helpers on this board who should be able to advise you better than me,but I am fairly sure if you get in touch with your local branch they should be able to advise you on where you can find such equipment. It may well be that they can loan you some equipment to try out to see which is suited.

Howengold,
sorry do not have better details, but there are adapted seat saddles available, which have backrests and straps for restraining the person to the seat, have also seen them with head restraints and head rests as well.
Only problem was, that was an american saddle maker:
http://www.grayscustomsaddlery.com/ ,don't know who makes them here, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find when contact the right people here or the RDA,am use an adapted custom made saddle at millers nook, but its not a holding type.

Have just had a look on google, and it came up with this NR thread:

[a few saddle shop links on there].

Also, one final can think of,there is a charity called Remap who may be able to help if cannot find anything suitable, they make and adapt equipment of any kind for people with disabilities, and as far as can remember-it's free-am found out about them recently off another user on a disability forum.

Maybe your nearest riding for the disabled school could advise you what would be best and where to get it, or is that the one that's just closed down? I do hope your son can get some riding in, there's nothing like it for the spirit and it looks like we might have some drier weather for August, good luck:)
