Haylage Balancer

I have not tried it to be honest.

I find that as long as the haylage isnt too rich then my horses are fine.

If it is too rich, my TB gets very loose droppings and passes water from the back end.

I have found a supplier where the haylage is just perfect. Not too dry and not too rich.

I really wouldnt waste money on balancers etc. Even when my TB has been very loose and wet, the vet said that apart from being a pain cleaning the horses legs etc. that the horse is fine. It is just excess water.

I have Tyler on Pink Powder as he has been a bit runy recently and saw this and wondered if it might make a difference (he always goes runny when he starts coming in over winter). Pink Powder doing OK, but didnt know if this was any difference lol.

Will maybe pass

some of the people on the yard im on use the Haylage Balancer and say its really good?? i have just bought a tub of PP to see if it helps Rosie with her slightly watery poo, seems to be helping already.

I feed a balancer because Tia is now only fed haylage and a few nuts (not the recommended amount).

I have always had Tia on pink powder, but spoke to NAF when this product came out. They said it was worth changing over from Pink powder because it has almost the same ingredients (just a couple of things missing) but would work out much cheaper for me.

I shared a tub with another lady on the yard, but unfortunately Tia didn't like it (she is very fussy with supplements - pink powder is the only thing i've managed to get into her). The other lady's horse loves it, and has been less stressy since she started on it, and has stopped cribbing.

One of the older horses on the yard has changed over, and his poos have become much firmer on the haylage balancer.

I got suckered into haylage balancer - Milo has a token feed and grass/haylage - he's a very good do-er! Based on the whole advert thing it sounded ideal..

But for the average horse you need 3 scoopfuls - 3 scoopfuls with Milo equated to an upturned feed bucket and a grumpy looking Milo. He absolutely hated it. I have been getting him to have 1 1/2 scoops without too much drama, but given that its 'sub-therapeutic' I figure there isn't any point giving it. And I can't say I have noticed any difference!
