I am a big believer that if you feel safe then you did the right thing for you. At the end of this hack you didn’t get your confidence knocked but in fact realised that Brodie trust you that is the takeaway you need to remember

You got out of it safe and sound and learnt a bit more about what you can and can't do. I was once bolted with one a road, it was pretty terrifying, as I had to try to slow the horse gently otherwise he could have come down with catastrophic consequences. Not a nice feeling.
Buddy tramps on but he comes back to voice and seat or runs out of puff.
I used to ride an old horse Humphrey who was incredibly difficult to hold, the gallops at Epsom were the only thing that stopped him. If you cantered him in a field, he could take off and go round it several times and no point in heading to a gate/hedge to stop him as he could jump 5ft easily.....he buggered off with me on x country and passed the horse who set off before him....he was safe to canter on tracks so long as it wasn't one that he anticipated. I used to hack him for hours over the south downs, mainly at walk and trot. He was a wonderful old boy.

I'd get off every time in those circumstances. Maybe not years ago, when I cared what people thought, but def now that I value my bones more than my image! Personally I wouldn't go out with her until she's got that behaviour sorted. Awkward, but I'd be nervous before we even set off, and that's a recipe for disaster.
And even if you aren't nervous there's the risk that her horse will injure yours. A while ago I went out with a lovely lady but her horse was a nightmare. She insisted he had to go in front, but then he kept spinning & running back to or past us & she made no attempt to prevent this behaviour, In the end, even though I was several horse lengths back, hers crashed into mine sending him onto his knees. Luckily he wasn't hurt, but he could have been & I was very annoyed with her since she still couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it. I told her to get & keep behind before my horse was hurt by hers and, much as I like her I haven't hacked with her since.
That's exactly how I would feel if I agreed to go out with her again, avoiding riding with her currently (I've actually injured a rib so not riding at all unfortunately)
That sounds really awful. I wouldn't of liked that situation at all! I can't say I blame you!!
