I had to laugh this morning at madam and her side kick foal fleurette. I brought them onto the yard last night as the weather was foul.

This morning opened the yard gate so they could go out with Buddy. First of all evict Suze from the hay barn where she was continuing to pig herself.

Checked a while later and both of them were pigging themselves on my last bale of wrapped hay which fortunately we were going to be pushing into the hayshed to use. so there is OH and me pushing the bale and the two comtois grabbing it with their teeth and trying to hold onto it!

Such a huge change in Suze! She is playful, kind, very chilled, a few years ago she would have legged it or booted you but now she is just joining in.

She reminds me of Bra. She had a bad start. It has taken a while for us to reach an understanding and for her trust me. It is such a huge deal for her. But we are getting there. It takes years.
Her turning point was working with Antoine, he taught me a lot about how to figure her out, she always was better with me than him, and she just surrendered her trust, I feel very very lucky that she decided to try as otherwise her future wasn't great. it was such a shame losing Leo, as he was just like her, but didn't kick, and he just shrugged off his past and was happy

That's not near as much as I expected, Jess tapes more than that
have worked on her weight a lot, fleur is down a lot as well, even Buddy has lost a bit - he tapes the same but you can clearly see his ribs, which on a 25 year old I would prefer if he had a little bit more on him.

Rode Buddy, while he was eating his breakfast, chucked his saddle on Suze, did up the girths. She has only had a saddle on a couple of times. Went to get the rope halter, did some moving backing long reining. Took saddle off, told her to stay where she was, middle of yard, put saddle away, Suze not moved an inch. Turned her and Buddy back out. She is so chilled and such a good girl, the old boy wouldn't have stood there, he would have been off eating hay or just being Buddy. But no, she was told to wait and she waited.
