So who has bought one?

I like the idea of an equidry. Especially after I got soaked to the knickers the other day and I wasn’t even riding. Also I want to get back out with Faran and Zurich once I’m able to but most of my jackets are now 15/20yrs old and no longer waterproof no matter how I do it.

However I choked at paying £170. So a quick google and many reviews and researching later I found this

Now it doesn’t have leg straps however I can have these added by my friend with a sewing machine or stitch them in myself 😃 but basically it’s the same thing. Many were advertising as waterproof but when you researched and read reviews they weren’t 😏

That looks like a great piece of kit, but wouldn't you get really hot with that fleecy lining?

I am a very cold person naturally, I have naturally low blood pressure and bad circulation due to this 😅 plus might mean I don’t have to go out with Layers on 🤣🤣

My jackets are also that old. I wash them in nikwax which reproofs them. In winter I ride in a wool sweater, bp, fleece and my musto jacket. But the jacket was expensive £175 at the Olympia horse show in 2008. I may have washed it a couple of times after falling off, but I avoid washing it if I can.

I know exactly what I bought and when due to OH keeping computer accounts.

I don’t think I could cope with all the flapping around. I have lost weight and my jackets don’t fit. So I bought a premier equine “luncanta” and I LOVE it. I have always bought blouson style jackets (easier to get bigger sizes to accommodate extra clothes under) but this is a long one and I much prefer it.

I like a big/long coat, but baggy would probably drive me potty, each to their own though. I know a few people who have the Equi dry and love them.

I'm seriously considering an Equidry as I often get hot riding but then get cold/chilled quickly especially when sorting out hot, muddy, sweaty horses after riding so it would be perfect to chuck on over the top.

I don't mind paying for things if they are worth it. I used to swear by Musto but the quality is awful these days. Currently wearing Berghaus which makes the Equidry look cheap (although appreciate that it isn't!) but so far, hasn't leaked so happy, happy days.

People use them around here, not the horse ones though.
Look into surfing, I am pretty sure they are cheaper.

I have an Equidry, it's like a tent, very unflattering and I can put it over my normal coat and still have plenty of room. It is superb at keeping you completely insulated from the cold and downpours. I haven't actually ridden in it yet because I dont want to get it dirty 😏 (you shouldn't wash them if you can help it) and to be honest I bought it more for keeping warm in winter while I'm working from home in my office, AKA the tack room and for poo picking/yard jobs when the weather is terrible. It is amazing for all those things and I haven't got overheated in it yet. I might wear it for riding one day but tbh I prefer waterproof overtrousers and short jacket. I do quite fancy a riding skirt for cold weather riding though, if there was a way of fastening them behind the horse's tail like an exercise sheet to stop it blowing about.

ETA I also looked at the changing robe things but the only one I had a recommendation for was pretty much on a par with the Equidry price wise. Others may be as good but I wanted tried and trusted by people I knew.

I’ll do a review of mine when it comes 😃 been given some great suggestions so if it’s not right then I can return it and try another 😃

I guess you’ve ordered one already, but at YHL with my friends yesterday and one said that she got a primark changing robe for £45, and said it is completely waterproof even in the most torrential rain and snug and warm, thought I’d pass it along 👍🏻

Thanks Jessey 😃

Well I have to say other than having my handy friend with a sewing machine lengthen the side slits and add Velcro to close them when I’m not riding I’m loving it! This is the xs/s 😃😃 I have tonnes of room despite putting on so much weight since I injured my spine.

Is that a thumbs up for the place I suggested or something else?
Looks so cosy.
I have a blanket fleece and found a cheaper version of the expensive.

I see so many using for walking the dogs.

Something else however my friend on the yard is looking to order from the place you suggested as she wants zip pockets as a must have 😃😃😃 she rides a bouncy TB so zips are an essential for her as everything else bounces out of her pickets otherwise 😃😃😃

So thank you again for the tip 😁😁😁

I am a zip person as well. I find I just lose stuff 😂

So glad you found something though, they are really popular.

I had no clue what these were until googling. And funnily enough there's an advert in the local magazine for a company selling them up here. Well, for swimmers, cos there's a lot of folk sea swimming.
