Playing Ponies....My journey

it’s been a lovely mild autumn this year the ponies have gone onto the winter paddock now. They are loving the space and grass.

3 weeks ago I paid a deposit on this wee dude he coming down from Scotland. He’s called Glenvara Viserion ( Rex ). We been busy lining out his stable preparing for his arrival.

Well Rex has settled into our routine and lifestyle the farm he has a small scoop of younstock pellets on a morning in his paddock after he’s walked out.

He grazes all day till 3.30 when he’s brought in to another small feed and his night ration of hay. He’s started having morning and evening grooming session just a light brush over with hard Plastic mud brush he has a very thick coat.

Eva is rugged and looking great for an almost 23 years old. She is greying out now on her face.

Lunan is currently unrugged as without a rider and such a shame as so talented a jumping pony and lovely to hack.

Shakira also unrugged without a rider needs an experienced lightweight rider due to being still a novice ridden pony.and very green.

Summer Storm ( unrugged for a few more weeks till his ridden work begins)is starting ground work and some gentle lunging from this week to get him ready for ridden work again. Mid to late January. Time for him to have a proper job and to be a ridden horse for me. Soo looking forward to him being back in work again.

Love love 💗 my herd of natives they bring my so much enjoyment xx

Summer Storm has the dentist on the 12 then he will slowly come back into work. Starting his ground work now. So he’s a bit fitter when the time comes for his ridden work to begin.

He’s some current pics from today and yes I know he’s fat but he will be started slowly. We are in no rush with him.

Very hard to keep weight of the native breeds - enjoy getting him going!
