Today I got back on Melody seems like a long time since I last rode her... but we managed a nice sedately 30 min plod in the school.... I am going to be bringing her back into work slowly as she has had so much time off what with one thing and another... let the spring commence hairy ponies back into work.....yay.

I have a sharer for melody 3 days a week to help keep melody’s weight down with extra riding.

Eva is back and I have sharer for her starting later this week so looks like it could be a summer of fun ahead.

I am just putting my box on the road then I can start having Cathy out to help me get storm ready for backing. It's going to be a busy summer ahead :)

I am cantering.... whooo hooohad my first ever canter lesson this week with NR Cathy Sirrett. And we are beginning our canter work....Melody is so fabulous...she will only go into canter when she feels I am balanced and slows into trot when I ask by sitting and voice commands.... I never stop saying it but I am so Lucky to own this pony.

Belle went over Rainbow bridge I said I wouldn’t put her through another winter and I meant it. She has been a lovely member of my herd for about 6 years now and will be missed by all who loved her.
Melody is doing fantastic at the livery yard enjoying every minute there she being such a wonderful pony and now we are cantering in the school. She has a young Sharer to in Layla’s.

Busy handling stormy and doing lots of ground work ready to start backing him this Autumn with the help of Beth and Riding Instructor. Looking forward to seeing how her takes to ridden life.

I haven’t updated since October last year.... stormy came into work properly in Jan and is now 8 weeks into being backed by Beth..... he is walk trot and starting to canter pops a small jump in trot is fabulous at trot poles.... and has been on his first ever riverside hack in company.... he is doing fantastic..

Shakira came back from her sale home and spend 3 to 4 weeks settling in and has now been a week back in work she is walk and trotting with a small amount of canter.... she is very fiery and does little protest bucks.... but I am sure she will get better with time under saddle.

Lunan is getting fit ready for a season competing with Beth at Hunter trials. He’s doing great.

Melody is being her fabulous self. Once a week lesson twice a week schooling and then trying to hack her out whenever I can in company with Eva. My riding is slowly improving and working towards showing and dressage.:)

Eva has a new sharer Harry and Livvy share her they make sure between them she is excercised most days. And getting ready to start a spring of showing and dressage ahead. Shock horror she has even started doing small jumps and seems to be enjoying it :)

Saturday I walked round the corner at the Livery yard. And one of the other liveries said I have just been talking about you. She mentioned about a small yard that was for rent less than two mins from my Livery yard... I got the number Sat night off another Livery ant texted the owner asking if it was for rent....

I was so nervous waiting for a reply ....The text came back 7 acres 5 stables and secure tack room. For 6 horses only and for one owner not multiple:). It was half the price we were paying at the Livery yard.

I asked if we could meet and told him we had five native ponies and which Livery yard we were on. Monday we texted him to ask what time he was free he said 20 mins so we went to meet him. It’s not like the Livery yard but it’s nice in a rough diamond sort of way. It has water and three paddocks roughly fenced and needing re doing. It’s fairly flat and surrounded by hedges and trees so very sheltered. We went away to think about it Monday afternoon we payed a months rent. Whoop whoop it’s ours....

Tuesday we fenced off a medium sized paddock and made it secure.Wednesday morning I got up at 5 am had a cuppa then out the door to walk Eva and Summer Storm to the new field 15 mins walk from the old yard. It was stormys first time ever on the roads. One of the liveries came to give us a hand. He walked round like he did it every day such a good boy. We then went to put Melody in the box to box her too the new field. When we got there the top doors we locked shut and wouldn’t unlock so for the first time ever we used the emergency exit at the back of the box out the back door, it works lol phew :) finally went to get Kira and Lunan in the box they travelled like pros. All the ponies moved with one mishap :)

Our new yard :)

Thursday we lifted the old trodden in hay out of the paddock at the Livery yard. Friday moved and emptied 2 tack sheds and a feed room including 7 saddles. Umpteen rugs and saddle cloths. Saturday was removing the electric fencing from the Livery yard, barrows etc.

Then did some tidying at the new yard. It needs work but I love it it’s perfect for us. Sunday I took the new jumps and poles to the yard. And set them in the jump paddock Harry the sharer came to help he rode and jumped Eva then tidied a stable for Eva. I tacked up Melody for my first ride even though she had not been ridden for about 5 days she was great as usual. Harry gave her a canter she was fabulous as always. Harry is smitten. We got the winter hay feeders and some last minute bits and bobs. We’re moved I am shattered.8D4234DF-E598-4E54-8AE9-68E9FBC55F80.jpegE674662A-1817-4551-BBF3-72D9073C781D.jpeg537D0AF5-677F-42F9-A0E5-7C56C0AB56D7.jpeg70D33CEF-B705-46E7-8235-B3EE3B5B28D8.jpeg4F9B6C3C-7EBB-4B9F-8516-B62930A5F0D4.jpeg6A005E1C-30D6-4A22-9522-82A229CF093C.jpegDF0C2A77-15B0-49B9-8D96-9C240BBA7962.jpeg5B46CA00-7BD6-4440-9072-17BBE65BE60E.jpegB003F306-95D2-44B2-A43F-9544CEAF36C5.jpegC5405E8D-2D6E-4CCC-B289-DA726F435E43.jpeg

We now have a grass dressage arena marked out, a jumping paddock and a few telegraph pole x country jumps at the new yard. It’s been all change Ella who was schooling Storm got a job in the Netherlands on a posh jumping yard... so stormy had two months chilling in the paddock till we found our new rider who has been schooling Stormy and helping get Shakira back into work for Steph helping Shakira transition from one rider to the other.

Now all is running smoothly 5 riders for five ponies allof them starting to hack out 200 yard in traffic to our bridles ways which is not to bad but scary for me as I hate traffic and horses.

Anyway we’re back now to share some of our adventures with you all. :) Some pics of the last few months....A44AD479-097F-42E5-A302-EC8BF4A8426F.jpeg07836D86-49AC-4605-8ABF-9806721998FA.jpeg9B0BF429-0DEA-4852-A0A1-837E2A04096E.jpegA6E485FB-B6C5-40F2-BB0C-18D9E590E585.jpeg8462E53C-CD4E-4F5B-A818-AE6DB17177B9.jpeg24CD4E00-39F2-4704-973B-1EFAF470F29E.jpeg4A7884E1-A4A8-4356-9501-CEB296EE8278.jpeg32520488-73FE-4917-870F-8D9F0055A7EE.jpegA05F7653-390F-413C-916C-D75132CD3275.jpegB62FBAFE-BE96-4EF5-9822-B7A1075D6C0F.jpegA44AD479-097F-42E5-A302-EC8BF4A8426F.jpeg07836D86-49AC-4605-8ABF-9806721998FA.jpeg9B0BF429-0DEA-4852-A0A1-837E2A04096E.jpegA6E485FB-B6C5-40F2-BB0C-18D9E590E585.jpeg8462E53C-CD4E-4F5B-A818-AE6DB17177B9.jpeg24CD4E00-39F2-4704-973B-1EFAF470F29E.jpeg4A7884E1-A4A8-4356-9501-CEB296EE8278.jpeg32520488-73FE-4917-870F-8D9F0055A7EE.jpegA05F7653-390F-413C-916C-D75132CD3275.jpegB62FBAFE-BE96-4EF5-9822-B7A1075D6C0F.jpeg
