Laugh if you want but I always chop some carrots up and put in his haynet, it started when he wasn't settled in his stable and so something to distract him until the yard was quieter helped. Needless to say he thought it was a good idea and now looks most put out if it isn't done :)

Sometimes he fumbles getting a piece out and if he drops it too close to his feet I'll pick it up rather than have it trodden on and wasted. This has clearly given him an idea. Tonight he was in quite a playful mood and started pulling out pieces of carrot and dropping them on the floor. Normally he'll then pick them up but tonight he came to me, went back to the carrots, nudged them, nosed me and stood waiting - cheeky sod wants waitress service. Humoured him, only to have him pick out another piece, drop it and ask for it to be picked up and fed to him, yes this was obviously a new game and one he was very pleased with! The game has rules though because when I went to get a piece out of the haynet he nudged my hand away and moved slightly to block me, then put the next piece in my hand for me to feed him before going back to dropping on the floor 🤣

I do love his personality and quirks, but I sometimes wonder if he isn't absolutely bonkers 🤣

Oh, I've just read this on your other thread! My friend does this for her horse (PB Welsh) when we go out anywhere. Just to occupy his busy brain, so he isn't looking for other distractions. Please don't tell him about Luca's new trick because he would definitely be up for it!
