hi has anybody else got one i have a 6 month old bitch and shes georgeous shes brilliant with my 7 year old son etc but having probs house training her

try crating her and letting her out every couple hours she will be easier to house train if shes on a sculde and dogs tend to not want to soil a sleeping area

Hello

Unfortunatley shes probably a bit big to pick up when she looks like shes going for a wee....so clap your hands to distract her and say "no" and take her to garden, she will probably not want to wee but hang around to see if she goes.

Let her out every time you come in or shes woken up from a snooze of if she gets excited or after play time. when you let her out say something like "go toilet" or something like but always say the same thing and when shes actually going to the toilet say it. Really praise her once shes gone outside.

We done the same with our GSD and when he was 12 weeks he had picked it up (hes 15 months now), now if its pouring it down we can say go toilet and hes in and out in 2 mins...unless he decides its much more fun rolling around in the wet grass then we grab the treats :p

If your consistent in what you say and do she will get the hang of it...good luck and keep consistent :D

Sugarpuff's advice is good, that's what we did too!

If he went inside, I cleaned up with non-bio washing powder in water, as if you used something with ammonia in, they still associate it with their toilet area.

My boy took a while to get the hang of it, but at around 8 months, something just clicked and he hasnt done anything in the house since!
xx

My puppies was completely potty trained in a couple of months!

We used the word 'wee wee' in a high pitched voice so its super exciting! Took them on the garden as often as every hour, when they do go 'wee wee' (which could be anything so long as its coming out and on the garden :p) give them lots of fuss.

To start with if they did it in the house but in the right place, they also got a fuss and we gradually reduce the number of 'spots' and got them closer to the back door.

If they went to the back door then you know they want to go, so said 'wee wee' opened the door and took them out.

My dogs now sit glancing at me and the back door until I say 'wee wee' then their tails start wagging and they go sit at the back door and wait to be let out. The dog actually barks now too so you can't ignore him but he took a few steps back when hormones kicked in and his leg cocked up (usually the kitchen table!) so he got corrected and intoduced to the patio table :p

thanx guys for the advice me and hubby will give it a go as for her size she is gsd size and only just coming upto 7mth omg lol she goes for 1 hour long walks 3 times a day but boy is she strong she nearly pulls me off my feet lol she is walked on a harness wich we feel is best for her we are not sure at what age she will stop growing but reckon shes a long way to go yet her parents were huge n i mean huge cant wait for her to howl we have called her storm which really suits her as she is wolf grey n white will try and get some pics of her posted up when i work out how to resize them also she cost £750 but she is worth every penny

She sounds lovely, maybe she might be using the harness against you though, they are bred for pulling a sled like that so is she throwing her strenght into the harness? maybe try a halti? I've never used one but a lot of people swear by them for stopping pullers. (a harness worked on the dog I walk but he's not a sled breed so maybe it's different)

thanx yeah she is, we did have her on a halti recomended by pet shop for her breed she went mad at first but was getting use to it but then we bumped into her breeder in town and got chatting and she said mum and dad were walked on a harness so we got her one but as she is getting bigger her strenth is growing and to stop her we have to lift her front feet off floor by pulling her up with harness think we might go back to halti and see how that goes thanx for advice
