Monkey is starting to feel beautifully reliable (**frantically touches wood), the big trip in May with L&C really helped him grow up just as I had hoped it would, and I'm looking forward to our next one in early September with T. Tomorrow I'm taking Monkey to L&C's yard to ride (our first trip out alone in the trailer to ride somewhere)
Then the 3rd week in august I have a week booked off, and L&C have kept it free and we plan to take the horses out somewhere new every other day - so lots of travelling and new places practice. But I have just seen that a local hunt has the last of their novice outings (walk and trot, max of 10 riders, no hounds) for the year on 11 August, which is a bit of a first step to hound exercising which I would really like to do this winter, and I really want to go, but I don't want to blow his brains before all the other stuff I have planned, am I nuts? Perhaps I should just organise a couple of local rides with 10 people (easily done, I used to do them monthly for up to 20 people) to prepare?
