Anybody else struggling to find time to ride?

my riding has gone down to 1 or 2 times a week at the weekend. I have gone back to working fulltime (from home but still F/t 8-6) i'm having to do horses in the dark at 6am and in the eves its dark too!

however my ponies have decided to help by PJ having probs, so not being ridden anyway and Lacey got a little nick when she was bring clipped under her girth so won't be ridden until that healed either (i didn't knick her...paid someone to clip her)

still darkest time sis end of Dec i think then it starts ghetting lighter my 2mins a day. by middle of feb should have more/reasonable light!

I only get out at weekends, only once this weekend sue to lack of babysitters. back to lobbying OH to building a school in the back garden. Cant really justify the cost though...

Itry and ride in the week but am lucky if I lunge once! Am trying to get myself more motivated but by the time I finish work and get down the yard, muck out and do the essentials I am too tired and want to go home for dinner!

glad I am not the only one - riding one or twice a week at the moment three times if I am lucky - and we have an indoor school - pony lives out 24/7 as he does not like being stabled so its a trip to the huge dark field and if it rained he's wet and maybe covered in wet mud which is difficult to get off. Just decided we are going to have a lazy winter riding wise and it seems to be suiting us well.

Part of his livery involves him being checked every day so I know he is in good hands if I don't get to the yard every day I have had some bad luck with nasty colds. At first I felt v guilty but he's v shiny, despite only fed a tiny bit of meadow mix and some mud guard. There does not seem like much grass but most of the other ponies living out are retired riding school ponies not being fed at all and they seem plump too.
