I've been meaning to ask for ages!

I rarely get a chance for a bath these days but when I do it's a corker, long, hot and full of gorgeous bubbles.

The moment I turn the taps on my dog Mollie is next to the bath. She has two ends in view. The first is to guard me, because naked wet Mums are vulnerable and must be guarded by spaniels at all costs. The second is to lick as many bubbles off me as she can.

How weird is that? Bubbles taste vile! I spit upon them! Why would she want to eat them?

Does anyone else's dog do this? Does anyone have any clue why?

Yes Alfie used to do this, and while on guard duty he would gaze at me in a most disconcerting way, and as well as the bubbles he would also try and lick off body lotion. Yuk.

Dogs are just weird.

I once had a puppy who'd nick bars of soap out of the bathroom, and I'd never remember to keep the door closed when I left him.

He'd eat the soap, which of course would make him sick, and the vomit glowed in the dark.

Nice.

Whilst Boo stands guard on the bathroom mat while I shower or am in the bath she has yet to eat any bubbles. My elderly Cat however appears on the lid of the toilet as soon as the bath taps start so she can eat the bubbles, she has always done this. Weirdo!

Tuppence licks my legs when I have moisturised with bedtime baby oil, but doesn't when I have used anything else.

Kitten Mungo appears to like bath bubbles. He was playing with the bubbles when my grandson was in the bath last week - went a step too far, and fell in. One bedraggled kitten. But it hasn't put him off - raced in next time the bathroom door was open, and straight up onto the bath (empty this time though!)
