Has anyone used these or know how they fit/anything about them?

I know they are a more budget brand but atm that is helpful!

I have seen a 100gram turnout rug at a good price but just wondered what they are like as to quality, fit and wear.

I think I had two - 5 years ago - they were DIABOLICAL! I bought them when we first got the horses - from our local tack shop and honestly, they were crud. Joe's filled with water (must have got a hole somewhere after a short while) and looked like he was wearing a life-raft!!!!!!! Storm's was never a good fit (mind you, she can be hard to fit rugs to). It was tight somehow?
Needless to say, they lasted for about 2 months! Would be interested to know if anybody else has used them tho!

Yes, they're fabulous!

I have a lightweight for Dolly which is 3 years old and still looks fab. Kai has a mediumweight which was subjected to a yearling's antics last winter and hasn't got a single tear or bit of damage. I'd happily buy them a whole wardrobe of Kingshead rugs.

As to what they fit...well mine are totally different shapes and neither of their rugs has ever rubbed them. Dolly's wide, flat and very broad through the chest. Kai's narrow, A shaped and narrow through the chest. Gratuitous photos of them in their Kingshead rugs are below ;)

This is worse then buying houses lol......two reviews both opposite of each other lol. (the house we looked at recently had 80% people in the area saying the area was lovely and peaceful with no probs, idyllic and the other 20% in the area were saying there were annoying teenagers who took drink and drugs lol.)

Anyway, I diverse....am keeping my mind open at the moment and thank you both for the reviews...the photo's are FAB btw, look very cosy.

Anyone else want to try and tip the balance one way or another??? please!!

the kingshead one is very comfortably within my budget and will be pleased if they work/fit well - Here's teh rugs I'm deciding about

Kingshead Zara 100 100gram fill turnout £24.99

Hayle Summer Turnout 100gram fill (Requisite - pretty sure this won't fit too well though)£37

Fal 40g Half neck Turnout £56.99

Premier Equine 70g fill £69.99

Bottom two are more money then I really want to pay.

Hehe I'll take any excuse to post pics ;)

Maybe the quality just improved in the two years between you getting yours and me getting my first one Trewsers? Doubt it was just bad luck for you to have two awful rugs of the same brand.

Really do adore the rugs though - can't remember what "models" my rugs are - have Googled and think Kai's is the foal rug (he's only in a 4'9 lol) but can't find Dolly's...probably cause it's VERY last season...Dolly killed two Masta Zings before I bought the Kingshead and she wears it more than her Horseware Amigo as it fits better.

ooh might work well then...Harvey needs a 5ft 6. I love his Amigo rugs but although they are a 'good' fit they are not a 'excellent' fit (good enough that I would buy more of them though). Saying that don't know if that's saying the rug is a good shape or not as Harvey is a 'odd' shape for rugs (narrow chest but big shoulders and medium wither but short backed.)

I have a combi, and up to now (it's not been used since march) its been ok.. my horse seems to like leaning over the fence and rips the neck/chest of every rug he's got :banghead:

Their denier isnt very high on what I think is their h/w winter t/out. That would put me off. Its 450. I would want 1200 for a winter rug

I don't mind what the denier is particularly as Harvey's 600D rugs have lasted nearly 2yrs now...He's not particuallry a rug wrecker and he hasn't got much he can catch rugs on. I would want maybe a 600D on a h/w winter rug though but only looking at their 100gram fill

We like Axion rugs from Ebay for cheapies. Premier Equine if we are feeling richer!

PE are really nice rugs and she will combine postage as I bought two last year, axiom postage charge is daylight robery £12 my butt.

Im confusing premier equine and evision equine ........

i have a 5'9 lightweight turnout that is surplus to requirement and i want to sell. Can't remember make though.

£10 to anyone on NR - hasnt been washed so a bit dirty but was reproofed about 4 months ago.

I decided to go for the Kingshead £24.99 + 7.95 p&p 100gram fill turnout rug in the end...thanks everyone for all the info!

eml - I have used axiom rugs before and agree they are a good budget buy but I'm pretty sure that they only do the really heavy turnouts like 400grm or 300grm ones...really was just looking for a 100grm or 70grm turnout at the moment.

Evision rugs - I know the p&p sounds expensive but actually I went to post one back to them (they come up very small and a 5ft 9 didn't even do up on harvey!) and the post office did quote me £11.50 odd to send it back! (so i resold it on ebay instead!)

Premier Equine - Have never seen one of their rugs but have heard good things about them. Would prefer not to get Harvey's from there though as at £69.99 for a 70grm TO i still think it's quite expensive, so have got Harvey the kingshead one...also they don't go down small enough for Piccolo as she only takes a 4ft 9 rug and they start at 5ft 6.

Pink Equine have just emailed me, they have a few rugs left in the end of their sale - mostly standard neck, with 200g fill, the high neck ones have nearly all gone but they are £25 plus postage, I had a pink one for my girl last winter and while it wasn't very pink at the end of the winter she wore it loads and I can definitely recommend it, it seemed a good quality rug. It's all clean, pink and ready to go again this year!
