Can anyone recommend and training centres in the cambs/beds area, ideally looking to have a couple of training sessions then go away and practice before taking test. Also what sort of prices am i looking at for training?

One other question, if you get cat C1 (up to 7.5 tonnes) can you then tow aswell on that licence? If so may do that insted so i have the option of a larger lorry in the future.

Im looking at taking my test soon so have contacted some training centres. I found my local one and a few others by googling 'trailer training' 'trailer towing lessons' and 'trailer towing course'. There are a few in Luton and Milton Keynes that were very helpful.

Most offer an assessment session for around £40 to assess your driving, then talk through how much training you need. The going rate for hourly tuition or block courses seem to vary depending on areas so best for you to call around

I had an assessment last week and went well and they said i only need 12 hours training which is 3 days of 4 hours - i first thought thats not too bad. Until they said that is £770!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek: That is actually the going rate in my area, according to the prices at 4 training centres i spoke with!

At the assessment i was given leaflets about the test so i know what i need to do so am practising with our trailer!

In regards to your other question i have no idea!! Good luck though x

If you have a trailer then definately!! Im actually looking at having a couple of car driving lessons to get me to 'test standard' as my trailer handling is fine! Especially with the leaflets i know what to practice!:D

Now im on the insurance for the 4x4 i will be allowed out for practice on the roads too (my YO has volunteered for these duties!) which will help! Ive spent hours going backwards in the field it will be nice going forwards!!:D:D:D

LOL! Think backwards will be my problem  Not tried yet as can do a full circle here. Used to do it with ease when i was 12 backing up the muck trailer on the farm but got a feeling the knack will have escaped me as i've got older! :o
