I am sure I asked before but think I was asking about full seat then, but can't find the thread to check!

I am after some sticky knee tights (not full seat as have found on long rides they give me blisters on inner thighs!). I don't want to spend silly money but not the cheapest either, even better if better ones in a sale! and definitely don't want that horrible shiny slippery material.

I prefer no grips to ride in, but Monkey still puts in a dramatic and incredibly fast shoulder dropping 180 occasionally, and silicone has saved me a few times so I'm looking for a compromise amount of it!

ETA, need ones for the fuller figure!

I like to ride in denim breeches in summer. Originally I had Pikeur which I out grew and now I have another pair of Ariat. They arent cheap but I have never had a pair wear out. But both these brands now make riding tights and both come in large sizes.
My Ariat are full seated but they have never left a mark on me nor on the saddle.

Have you ever tried the tights? I find that when riding 4 or 5 hours in one hit they start to cause the blisters, so you may not have ridden long enough in the ariat to start getting that?

Countrydale do a knee patch tight now. I don't have that model, but I do have a couple of pairs of their normal tights and I've had them for a few years since I first saw them start advertising. Mind you the price has gone up a lot in that time! They're decent quality, not in the same class as Ariat/Pikeur etc but not silly see through material either. They're really comfy too.

No. The only good long hacks I went on were in USA and when riding Western or bareback, I always wore riding jeans by Requisite which were cheap. (now outgrown) They have no anti slip. But since @jane's experience, I wouldnt want to ride without leg protection. In USA men wear full leather chaps over their jeans when riding.

I have never paid any attention to non slip seats in breeches nor their usefulness. Our RI's lunge lessons were concerned above all with balance in the saddle. She taught with a very flat open saddle and I doubt if any rubber dots would keep me on a spooking horse.

To be acurate I need to say that I now have only one pair of summer denim riding breeches and that is because they cost a fortunre, over £100 (Pikeur says OH). I got them reduced from a shop on line called classic dressage. As I only ride once a week, I supposed one pair would be enough. On the other hand I may have put another pair away with my normal jesans and temporarilly mislaid them

I like the Ariat EOS ones and if you look around you can often get them at around £30 rather than £85. As far as riding tights go they're flattering and the silicon is a flat type that doesn't catch saddles or give a "glued in place" feel. You may want to go down a size to what you'd normally wear, I find they come up big. They come in knee and full seat.

These are the type I have but I can't see them on my usual sites with a half grip, I have before though so it's probably a case of looking around https://www.tackshop.co.uk/shop/for...r/riding-tights-leggings/ariat-eos-fs-tights/ . Just seen they do have the knee grip ones but at a slightly higher price https://www.tackshop.co.uk/shop/for...ts-leggings/ariat-eos-moto-knee-patch-tights/

ETA knee grip ones are the Moto version, whatever that means!

Edited again! https://www.hopevalleysaddlery.co.u...ens-eos-knee-patch-riding-tights--navy__26704 EOS knee grips at £29.95, I've used this site and had no problems, likewise the other one I linked to.

I was looking at their's but having never heard of them before.

I have regular leggings I like to ride in, but really need the knee patches for that added security.
If it helps I have ordered from the site with no issues, just not these type!

I had a lovely pair of demin jods at one point that looked enough like jeans id be happy to go to the pub in them afterwards. Jjmping on the band wagon, but would love another pair like these if anyone has suggestions. Most of them now look very much 'riding' with sticky bits or funny lower leg stuff going on!

I have 3 pairs of riding tights. The ones with no silicone are madly slippy and I don't wear them for riding any more. I love the ones from Dark Horse, they are soft, comfortable, matte, flattering and sticky.

I did buy a pair on facebook and they are OK, but I am ashamed to say I can't remember the brand!

I do quite like the modern ones with lower leg loosely cuffed as there is no velcro round ones ankles and the "funny bit" fabric is soft where it lies under long boots or half chaps.
When I have seen Michael Peace, he rides in jeans and short boots. Maybe to get more feel through the legs?
I think of my summer breeches as new but our accounts show they were bought in about 2018. Since Covid I have ridden only once a week,

Just had a look at what I have.
LeMieux silicone, full seat.
Kerrits, non stick
Just Togs full stick silicone.
They might just do knee versions?

Sticky knees /suede I had Hactac endurance.
I did get Bridleway sticky knees, but the rest of the material was weird slippery cold feel.

They are thin enough for summer.
