Beswick Horse Models - value?

JOJOBA

Fluffy Bunny, apparently
I have a Beswick model Im planning to sell, but I cant seem to find any info about it online?

They're selling remarkably well on ebay though , so I would like to find out how much mine is worth!

It's a hunter, jumping a hedge, with a girl riding wearing breeches and a red hunt coat.

Basically it's this model exactly, but with a young girl on the horse, rather than sidesaddle lady:

Except mine isnt broken!

Anyone know anything about them? Is now the time to sell or will I kick myself later? ;)

Trying to find the model number but my mum doesnt know where to look...

make sure it is a real beswick as there are loads and loads of copies even from near exact moulds. Does it have Beswick stamped on it?

sounds good...they do go for a lot.....i sold one quite a few years back for £150 which to me was loads back then especially as i had only paid £15 for it off a stall lol

All this talk of Beswick horses reminds me of when I was a little girl (we're talking in the 1970s here!) and I had a super collection of Beswick horses. I kept them on a shelf in my bedroom. They were my pride and joy (not having a real horse, y'see...)

One day, when I was at school, our cat decided to take a stroll along the shelf... yes, you can guess what's coming! My mum heard an almighty crash from my room and discovered the smashed remains of all my china horses on the floor!

She says now that telling me when I came home from school was one of the hardest things she's ever had to do! I was devastated. My lovely dad sat up all night mending the horses that were mendable but most were beyond repair. I still have a few of them - a thoroughbred, a foal and a black fell pony. I think I'm just about over the shock of the breakages! ;)

All mine are bust in some way.
My Granny used to have a posh shop selling them back in the 60's and 70's. Every Xmas and Birthday I used to get a Beswick model,......the ones that had been broken in transit and fixed by my grandad, I have loads, but all with a mend on them somewhere! :(

I have got about 9 Beswick horses/foals and the set of Fresian cattle that were left to me by my Grandad. They are obviously very special to me because of being my grandparents but I have no idea of there value! Maybe I need to be more careful with them. My 2 year old has already caused a foal to break its leg!!
