Black or dark Bay????

A few people have puzzled over their horse in a bay/black way and it's actually smokey black. That's black with a cream gene, usually disappointing for a breeder hoping for buckskin or palomino but a horse in a chocolate colour sounds pretty appealing to me.

You can't. Accept it and learn to love him for himself. There's nothing better than a bold, beautiful brown. Was going to put another common phrase here but wasn't sure on etiquette.
