Bridle without noseband

I think it's the anatomical ones, that now don't have removable nosebands (you can but you are left with a strap dangling from the headpiece). Any traditional/non-anatomical should be able to be used without. If you want a really nice one have you considered having one made for you, you could get exactly what you want, in exactly the leather you want for probably not much more than a hundred quid.

I would always consult our saddler, or rather the saddler used by our RI and her yard. I hacked my old share for years in quite a rare saddle and he offered to fit Maisie with the same if I bought her. On the other hand if one is buying a small item or part and is phoning his shop, I was told he just stocked one brand of reins. Not what I wanted, so I bought them from the makers on line.

The websites are quite instructive as some makers like Sabre have instructions for measuring up the pony and fitting the bridle. But yes the one I found on line seems very expensive.

@Jessey my bridle has an anatomical shaped headpiece but the noseband goes through slots on either side and over the top of the headpiece so it can be removed completely. I think I read that this isn't quite as good at relieving pressure as the all in one headpieces, but given the amount of mane going underneath I suspect the difference is negligible.

I have the same sort of bridle as Carthorse. The noseband would come off without extra straps and just a slot each side.

A friend had a made to measure from this place and was happy with it https://www.horsemanshipsaddlery.uk...all-Bridle-Saturn-or-Scorpio-No-Noseband.html and as you can see they actually sell an anatomical bridle with no noseband. The off the peg sizing goes to pony, but if you measure up you may find that's ok and if the measurements suggest it's too big then give them a call, she found they were very helpful.
Thanks for this @carthorse . Sid's broadband is rubbing just in front of his ears, horrid and sore, poor chap. I am going to see if one of these would help him.

This one is exactly what I’m looking for! I will look at the measurements and compare to her current bridle tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will fit.
