At the national equine show a couple of weeks ago I was just wandering around when I got a whiff of something fabulous and followed my nose to a small stand and found this

She only had a tiny sample pot open but it’s potent and smells amazing.

I got a small tub to try as my guys are so sensitive and so far I’m really impressed, a tiny smear around sheath/boobs and in ears and the midges and mozzies have completely left my guys alone! And even better you can still smell it pretty strongly after 24 hours and they’re still not swishing so I’m only putting it on every other or third day!! Plus no bad reactions to it and it’s safe even on open wounds and actually meant to help with healing. I’m really hopeful when the bugs are at full force this will be another string in my bow 🤞

I think I’m going to take it to Scotland with me to use on myself this summer 🤣

Interesting. I'll have to see about this stuff because although its really windy most of the year round up here Fuzzy absolutely hates midges and flies and is extremely intolerant to them. The other two not so much, but she gets really cheesed off quickly from June onwards. Whereabouts in Scotland are you holidaying?

This year I’m going to Skye, Harris and Lewis, across to Ullapool back through some of the highlands, I loved the west coast so much last year I can’t resist! And my mum is going to come with me which will be nice 👌

Interesting, I'll have to look it up. What does it smell of? Some smells affect me badly, for instance Power Phazer will literally have me coughing until I throw up.
Power phaser does the same to me, this isn’t that! I didn’t see anything on the label but I’ll double check, I know she said it’s lemon grass and I think lemon eucalyptus, it’s delicate and fresh not overpowering yukky!

You have to request the ingredients - on their site, or look at the actual label. Which it doesn't seem to show on their site. It might be a trade secret! Particularly if its good stuff.

I know what you mean. Deosect makes me heave! I used that on Chloe for her mites when nothing else worked, the vet gave it me. Vile stuff. I know you can use diluted for a fly repellent but it make me gag and cough.

@carthorse I finally remembered to get pictures of the label

It looks like vasaline and has that texture but absorbs really quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feel.

Phaser makes me cough badly, but I can stick my nose in this tub no problem. It just smells lightly lemon-y and slightly floral. I’m allergic to everything perfumed even baby lotion but it hasn’t upset my skin or Jess and her skin peels at anything strong like phaser or yellow fly cream.

I make my own every year and it seems to do the trick 😃. I’ve never seen that brand before 😃 might take a look for smearing on at rides away from home since it’s such a small tub looking

I'm definitely going to look for some of that or something from their range. The midges are here already and I don't want to waste what could be a good ride worrying about Fuz not liking flies and midges. I was stubborn last year and either didn't bother or used some roll-on stuff I had left over (Lincoln brand I think) but it wasn't very good.
