I think it's strange that so many people refuse the flu jab when the death rate appears to be about the same as Coronavirus (and that's despite so many people being inoculated), yet I bet we'd all be queuing up to get the Coronavirus jab if one were available.
Because that's a choice, this isn't. If those most dry risk don't want it they don't have to have it. I wonder if it's assumed you cannot die from flu when in fact you still can.
As my mum is high risk ie elderly and respiratory and other conditions, and has 4 carers a day coming in, and they are going to lots of households, I suggested she come here to stay where she would be less at risk of getting anything, plus she hasn't been well last 2 weeks with a gastric bug. Of course she said no, which makes me feel wonderful. If she gets exposed to it, she will die. simple as.
We have 159 cases in the Usa now
With 11 deaths .
10 in Washington state.
1 in California.
Washingtons I think are all still linked to
The nursing home..
If its a big place it. Could go lots higher.
They did not say how many cases are in Washington state.
Drs. And dentists now taking xtra precautions in this state.

It still worries me.
The school that closed for a week is closing a further second week..
A mall i think in Texas closed for deep cleaning.
How do you realistically sanitize a whole mall.
One very disturbing thing they showed
Someplace round hand rails being wiped down
The person was only running the cloth hap hazard along the top.
People circle hand rails and fingers go around the bottom.
The worse of danger area not getting not being cleaned at all.
It will give people a false sense of security to be more lax.
People touch their faces and items etc with their fingers NOT there palm where the sanatizing will take place..

I never, ever touch hand rails in public places, or door handles for that matter, not since I watched a man years ago on an escalator in front of me, pick his nose and wipe his disgusting snotty fingers on the handrail! And people behaving like that will be the folk who don’t give a fig about spreading their germs to all of us.
That's disgusting. I try to avoid touching things in public places too, but cash machines ... they must be minging. Maybe I ought to use disposable gloves, but then there's the whole plastic thing ... and alcohol hand gel doesn't work for some tummy bugs so can't rely on that. Mind you I have survived up to now and I think nothing of grovelling about in a dirty stable then having a biscuit!
I too hate those cash machines. They really weird me out, I have bad ocd with hands (as a teen they were a problem and raw most of the time, I've got better as an adult but still have my moments
)I'm totally with you on the stable lol Horsey dirt isn't "dirt" to me. Hehehee. I am quite selective about it!
I was wondering about dentists over here too. They already mostly wear masks. But what about things for patients like the safety glasses they hand you? I hope they are wiping them properly between patients.
Talking to mum last night (she is a qualified nurse though hasn't practiced in some years) and she was saying it lasts a very very short time on soft surfaces/fabrics, so it is basically only transmittable on hard surfaces and only then for a few hours, but it is predominantly spread through direct person to person (or body fluids) contact, or at least that's what the experts were says that she followed.

At atm yesterday I had a napkin sprayed wet w ..lysol only touched screen etc
With one finger tip and cleaned it VERY CAREFULLY

I can touch my horses and goats and be fine with it...
yup I'd eat a cookie
I KNOW where all their noses have been..
Im very careful at farm fairs etc to never touch strange animals though.

Being around animals, dirt, the elements, maybe you build up some sort of immunity?
I have to say shopping today I took my coat off, as the heating is way too warm imo. How much air is actually in the supermarkets. Coming from the stables without heating into artificial light and heating, that's what will circulate any bugs, not just this one.
