Hi, I have just been up the stables to turn the horses out and have found a crab apple in the stable! I assume someone has been feeding my horses! Are crab apples dangerous? I'm really worried! And angry that someone is interfering with my horses, any suggestions to stop them? I'm going to put some signs up tomorrow.

ditto.

1 or 2 (my pony was sneaky and would scoop them up then eat them further down the road when i wasnt checking) wont harm but i wouldnt want loads and loads.

i would also be worried someone has been on the yard feeding other peoples horses- i presume they have horses of their own!

perhaps leave a note about them causing colic in your tack room...

thanks!

well, im on a farm where im the only person and only horses, theres been lorry drivers coming up the farm to deliver potatoes etc, and last night i actually noticed an apple tree just opposite the stables, i think its prob one of the drivers thinking they are being nice, and prob didnt overfeed them. The apple i did find on the floor so maybe rosie decided she didnt like them! theres also a footpath cutting through the farm so it could be a walker i suppose.

i was just a bit worried as i do not like people feeding my horses treats that i dont know about! its really worrying as i only read an article the other day about a horse on a carefully restricted diet dying of colic due to passers by feeding him lots of treats!
