Any other sufferers?

I've had crohn's for 6 years, diagnosed for 3. It def effects my riding life, some days i can't even walk with the pain and even the good days are clouded over by the 101 meds i have to take. I now hack mostly with some schooling thrown. However a drolly kiss from the ponies helps me forget and i manage to get on with it most days
xx

I am only just getting back into riding, because this wretched affliction has kept me out the saddle for years. Fortunately I'm responding well to the infliximab, and can now get one hour a weeks riding done. Before then, planning anything like that was way too uncertain.

I keep hoping that those clever chaps who are working on an actual cure will come up with something soon.
If there's ever trials for drooly pony therapy, then I'll sign up for them straight away. :D

I have crohn's disease too and to be honest it doesn't really affect my riding at all, unless I am having a flare up. I have been diagnosed with it for 3 years and have been on infliximab since xmas last year.

I am probably very lucky that I respond so well to the infliximab, I was on methotrexate before which caused my liver to become enlarged. The only problems I have is the tiredness that crohns causes, some days I just feel drained, so on those days I dont ride, just go up muck out, feed and spend some time with the horses.
