Basically i cant decide between

dengie healthy hooves and spillers happy hoof.

I dont have laminitics.
my horses arent in much work
i dont like feeding them very much sugar so whichever one has a lower sgar content
I just want to feed them a bit as they are low on grass and i dont want tofeed hay.

what would you use out of the two? which has a higher sugar content anyone know? and what are the ingredients in healthy hooves its doing my poor brain in not being able to find it in ingredient order on the internet!!

Healthy Hooves is fab! It's chaff with a few nuts thrown in, and Kai adores it :D It also contains Biotin etc which is great for hoof health.
I actually don't have the bag anymore, due to space saving bins ;) but will try and find nutritional info on net, although if you ring manufacturers, they should be able to tell you!

Mine are on happy hoof but thats because the little ones are chronic laminitics. I believe that healthy hooves is more designed for horses who have problem feet?

Healthy hoof every time!! I've tried them all. Have one pony who's weight I have to watch n my big ID who can eat whatever n they're both on Healthy hoof. Basically it just looks alot nicer, its moist n got nuts in n far more interesting for the horse. Both are low sugar n laminitis approved but Healthy hoof fed at the recommended ammount gives your horse its daily amount of Biotin as previously said. Can't u ring Dengie n ask them to send you a sample? I'm sure they will?

Healthy hooves! I find the happy hoof to be 'dusty' if you get me?? Probably not lol. Healthy hooves is also safe for lamanitics. BUT if not fed at the RDA, neither are of any nutritional value :)

Used both on 3 of mine, 2 of them didn't care which they had as ate all they got of both, so they had happy hoof as its cheaper ;)
Then the fussiest wouldn't eat the nuts in happy hoof so tried healthy hooves and he still didn't!...so he also still has happy hoof just as its easier then getting to many different feeds! and he loves the chaff in happy hoofs! Cheaper then healthy hooves :D!

Used both in the past didnt make any difference he will eat anything!

Have changed now to Spillers Equilibrium Lo Cal for laminitics because it contains ingrediants to prevent laminitis and has a little garlic in as well, but not enough to smell it. It was only 9.50 for a bag.

Previously he had Top Spec Antilam pellets 28,00, garlic 4.00, dengie hi fi lite 8.30, which totaled 41.00

I still have hi fi lite for extra feed in case of hay shortage. The equilibrium is only 1kg per day for his size, and he needs a lot of hifilite when he is in with lami.

Mine have had both. I much prefer the look of HHooves, it looks good and smells really nice, but not the usual sugary smell!!

I agree with a couple of other posters here that H Hoof just dosent look the same as it used to. Its fluffier in texture!!. Maybe theyve just used a different grass in it or something?

Pablo was on Hi Fi Good doer but I have recently changed him to Happy Hoof and I really like it and he takes double the time to eat it and with the Hi Fi I used to give him nuts as well but with the HH it has nuts in so saves me abit of money:D;)
