Going to OH's uni ball next month eeeekkkk...means looking like a girl!

Been looking at dresses since the one I have no longer fits (worn 4 yrs ago before losing quite a bit of weight) and keep going back to this one, but I can't afford it at short notice...yes OH:stomp: is rubbish

never mind...I'll find something

lovely dress!

You could probably find something from Debut at Debenham's that would be similar but for less? They've always been a safe backup plan for me when looking for posh frocks :)

Aww a girl after my own heart.

My bridesmaid dresses were purple when I got married

ooohhhhh when I got married (before not long after getting divorced! lol) my sis was in dairy milk purple...the dress may still be at my parents! must go look tomorrow as may fit and save me pennies

The one I was planning on wearing before I tried it on tonight is from debut, been on the website and not seeing anything I fancy but then I'm blinded by the previous one :giggle:

That dress would soooo suit you with your colouring.
Have you tried hiring? Get some lovely ones to hire but will still cost about £80 or so going by memory of pricing it up a couple of years back.
If you think its something you can wear several times then its maybe worth splashing out on. I have a brown evening dress I got for £40 in the sales and its taken me to hunt balls and my wedding reception and I will get years of use out of it!

Since balls and proms have become so popular most high street shops do more evening wear. Have you got a matalan nearby? I got my Christmas party dress from there for £25! And it looked way more expensive!

CN - I didn't think about hiring...great idea!

The dress I have has been worn twice and I love it! I'll have to eat some pies for OH's grad ball in 2 1/5 years (this is the half way ball) so I can wear it.

I was going to suggest hiring too as its a great way to get a really expensive quality dress for less money....plus they tailor it to fit you perfectly.

I'm scared to have the one I have made smaller as its my normal size...I'm smaller now than ever and can't see it lasting

I'm off to look at hiring places....I'll post stuff for opinions :-D I have found one I like..i think its pride and prejudice looking but a bit bling...

Go onto ebay. We go to loads of hunt balls and dinner dances and I have a wardrobe full of evening dresses - most of which are off ebay!

You might even find your coast dress on there - I bought a coast evening dress for £40 on there a couple of years ago.

Decisions, decisions..like both of those.

What size are you hun? I have a wardrobe full of fancy dresses in sizes 8-10 that you are more than welcome to borrow. None in purple unfortunately though.

Could you ask a dressmaker to take your old dress in but do it so that it can be undone if you needed?
