I’m so not a name brand person, unless it truly outperforms functionally so I’ve not got on this wagon yet, but it ticks all my boxes where few other coats do. Are they really worth the price tag?

And, I want a really long coat, I prefer ankle length, I’m only 5’4” but thinking of buying the tall option to get that, or is there some reason not to do that?

I seem to recall someone telling me there is an equidry equivalant for a better price tag, and just as good quality. No idea on them though. Sorry

It's not for me because I get too hot quickly and I prefer the two halves option.
But there certainly are cheaper options.
I would look into the surfing area and the sales. Also secondhand.
People on the yard use them. But I think I would find doing my chores, inhand stuff a bit restrictive /too hot.
I have a skirt now.

I have one. Im 5'7 and I got the tall option. It's huge. I can't do any yard work in it because it gets warm too quickly and all the heavy material flapping round my calves is irritating and tiring. But it is fabulous for working in my home office, aka tack room, in winter. I don’t need a heater on. I defy anyone to get cold in one and it's totally waterproof. It would be ideal for eg instructors who have to stand out in all weathers watching their students, but not ideal for anything active.

I would like to get the lighter weight one in a much smaller size though.

I have a dryza bone long mac which hangs down like a mounted police rain coat and can fasten round ones calves to stop it flappng. But my present share hates anything touching or hanging over her rear end, so it is years since I wore mine to ride. I have watched polo in it, in poring rain. I ride in my walking jackets - a Musto for winter and a thin Berghaus for summer.
My lightweight walking mac is a Rohan - very light to roll up in my rucksack.

I have looked at the other one but they don’t do a fold away/removable hood so it’s not for me.

I have lots of 2 half options, but my long coat has given up the ghost and I want to replace it. I want something to throw over work clothes when it’s torrential and also to ride in the same. Cheaper versions don’t have the features I want.

Yeah I was definitely going to go for the light option, I prefer to be able to add layers. I tried on my friends earlier in the week so know what size I need. Hers was the heavy one and I was surprised just how heavy it was!

I’ve had and still have plenty of others, I’m specifically asking about the equidry.

Just in case anyone is interested, I got the reincoat lite in the end and so far I’m really happy with it, it’s great in torrential rain doing chores, but I haven’t ridden in it yet. I like that it’s light (just mesh lined) as I can layer up on chillier days, but it’s not hot on milder days.
