On an island
Well, we are meant to be visiting our neighbours tomorrow evening for drinks and nibbles, could get interesting walking round there in the wind wearing our over-trousers (how glam!!). Christmas day all being well, providing we still have power, OH is doing turkey with lots of the usual things:D but we won't eat it until evening, for some reason we prefer it at night? Anyone else do that? We'll be spending most of the day on and off with the horses, with this wind they'll just be up on the yard so lots of poo picking and skipping out! Between Christmas and New Year our neighbours are coming over to us, and OH will be making one of his "creations":D but apart from that, I don't think we will be doing much other than spending horse time:)
So, what plans do you all have? If any? Anyone working over the festivities??

I'm working tomorrow, then seeing ale, making biscuits, seeing to the cat I'm looking after and having a evening buffet with my boyfriends family.

Then Xmas day I'm up early to cycle to the yard, opening pressies with my family and grandparents which I'm really looking forward to as they've been poorly. Then back to the yard on the bike again to see ale. We are having our dinner around 5pm and then will be playing some festive games and pass the parcel.

Can't wait :D

Sounds good:)

Christmas eve will dress up Melody and ride her in a festive play in the paddocks... to windy for me to consider hacking....... then Christmas day it will just be me and my partner this year...so a quiet evening meal planned steak and seasonal veg.... after a day sorting the ponies out.

New Year I am planning going out with a friend for a drink locally.

I have got the short straw and I am working Xmas eve and Xmas day. So it will be busy as usual until I left work on the night. Then it's home to open my pressies, stuff my face with food!! Boxing day we're seeing my grandma and grandad and other family members. In between Christmas I am seeing more family members, friends and working lol! New years eve not too sure then back working new years day!!!

TBH I don't enjoy Christmas Day morning. Its up early for me to sort out my horse and a friend's, who goes away EVERY Christmas,. My husband walks the dog, then we have to drive over to see my parents, then on to see his mother.
Then rush back to give ponies as second net as they will be on winter turnout due to bad weather. A quick piece of toast or something for Lunch, then I can relax for a couple of hours until its time to go back to horses to poo pick and feed. Christmas Meal should be around 7pm. Luckily it's just the two of us!
Until a couple of years ago we had to fit in a visit to my sisters too, but I stopped that when her kids got older.
I will be glad when its over. Bah Humbug!

Just the two of us, so do horses, walk dogs, enjoy smoked salmon & scrambled egg, then settle in for the long haul preparing our Christmas meal. I like to go gastronomic at Christmas since I have the time. It's just Beef Wellington this year but I'm going to make my own puff pastry and we have saved some ceps to have with it!

We have our meal in the evening too, prefer it that way.

Sounds lovely - my OH finds puff pastry very difficult to make.

This is the first year we've not eaten in the evening - I never minded it! At 28 I'm probably not supposed to confess to this, but I'm quite pleased we are eating earlier in the afternoon 2-3pm or so I imagine, as we don't open our main presents until we've eaten :D

I'm out with girls tonight for dinner & drinks, which marks the end of a long few weeks of Christmas celebrations. But this Christmas weekend is going to be really chilled & to be honest, I couldn't be more pleased :)

I'll hack Pete tomorrow & plan to spend Christmas Eve finishing wrapping my last few presents & watching Olympia which I recorded but didnt have time to watch in the run up! I imagine I'll be doing the same on Boxing Day :D

Christmas Day morning we'll hack with my Dad and the dogs, give him his presents & do all the jobs then head home for the rest of the day of Prosecco, yummy food and family time. My YM will be bringing him in, so no need to go back twice.

I'm not back at work until 4th of January, which is amazing & much needed! Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas :) X

I have four days off. I'd planned to ride billy each day. Drive chunky Christmas day, but I have put my back out. Currently dosed on morphine and tramadol. Will have to see how I feel tomorrow. I rode Weds, it was fine till I cantered, then it nearly killed me. I really wanted to do some schooling and have a good blast on billy. Guess that's all on hold. If feels like my only few days off have been spoiled. I'm really disappointed.

I'm home by myself for Xmas day, I'd planned to ride Jess/drive hank but there's another storm forecast so we shall see. I'm off on Tuesday for our family xmas but mum told me this week there'll be no xmas dinner as they are having it xmas day, bit of a bummer!
I've still got some prep to do for new year's day so I'll be finishing that and spending lots of pony time until I go back to work on the 4th, got a few visits planned with friends too :) and I've got Richard Maxwell coming out to do bodywork for Jess on 3Rd Jan which I'm really excited about :D

I am hoping we are going to get a lull at some point in this weather - preferably later on when we should be going to our neighbours!

Last night the twins and I nicked Ale's idea from last year and left gift bags for all the ponies. We also left a Christmas poem from Santa, the elves and the reindeer stuck on the barn door. Today everyone is trying to find out who did it which is fun. Thanks @Ale for the inspiration!!

Late to this thread but I don't really make set plans. Christmas has a way of rubbing salt into old wounds for me so I spend most of the day where I'm happiest, which is with my ponies! I always ride Christmas day and went out for a lovey 2 hour hack today with a friend. Would of liked to have gone hunting boxing day but I darent take Charlie, his legs are too precious. And no one's got a horse spare to take.

@KP nut what a lovely thing to do!
