Devon
Wellbeck near Exeter will be running the first Para Dressage qualifier next April. This will be great to people living in the South West and has come about because the owner of Wellbeck Equestrian Centre watched the paraolympics and was blown away by the achievements of the competitors.
The competition will be in April and will be none profit making so the organisers are looking for sponsership for the classes and grades. Only £40-50 would cover a classes prize money and the company who sponsered the class would have it named after them. Also as the first and possibly only Devon '09 qualifiers it is likely to be writen about in the National and Local equine press and may be the local general papers.
So if you think can help or know of a nice company please either PM me or go to www.wellbeckequestrian.com
many thanks

could i suggest approaching,

town and country supplies
orchard nurseries (are a horsie place too)
rollestone feeds

all 3 often sponser places, if you would like me to approch them on your behalf (they all know me well) then please pm me.

Thanks for that Mullberyy very kind of you and great suggestions Jaydevon. If the para classes get sponsered may be we will get more in this area

Inderviduals can sponser I was thinking about sponsering a class. Basically as I understand it Wellbeck won't make any profit out of running the para classes by the time they have paid judges expenses, rossettes and so on so the aim of the sponsership is to cover the costs. I guess they are not expecting huge entry numbers but I really want to support them for doing this so trying to raise some money. In terms of a business I know Wellbeck are good at getting media coverage of the shows they run both in the local South West press and nationals like Horse and Hound so any sponser will also get great advertising for very little outlay.

try countryside supplies eastliegh farm chacewater truro cornwall i am sure mr nicholes will sponser you and i would as well it would advertise my livery yard this is great and what about spectaters thaks for this

Will pass on the suggestions. People can come and watch with no charge and there is some seating and hot food available. It is alos going out on TV (I think one of the horse internet channels but not sure)

Bad news I'm sorry

Earlier today I had a call from the owner of Wellbeck Equestrian Centre with some bad news. The qualifier arranged for next April will now not be going a head. Apaprently the date given to Wellbeck is the same date as another para qualifier in Hamshire. BD have said it ok to have two para qualifiers on the same day as they are 3 hours drive apart but practically it is not feisable. I am very new to this but from what I have managed to research there are only a handfull of qualifiers for the paras each year so the people who are involved have to travel around the UK getting to them anyway. Therefore if two qualifiers run of the same day there are not enough people in each grade to actually make a competition worth while. Also the hampshire qualifier will be indoors so it is expected to be the popular one over Wellbeck. I am rather sad about the turn of events but I don't understand the politics of it all.

Thank you for all the great sponsership offers and ideas and you never know may be BD will consider letting Wellbeck have a para qualifier 2010 on a diffrent date to the other qualifiers.
