Big title, eh? But it wasn't a big thing. Just a lovely hack on the most perfectest spring day.
First issue was getting the Zigster to stand quietly tied up outside the shelter. He has had a couple of bad experiences pulling back there and is now convinced that the gate wants to kill him! But he settled in the end and zizzed while I filled the air with fluff.

I thought we should go past where our little incident took place, so once we were tacked up we set off up the gully.

This is what Ziggy was about to run through when I bailed out. That's why I bailed out - I still think he would have broken a leg if I had stayed on.

On the top heath. The ears tell you that there is a horse in the distance! But Ziggy was very good and trotted nicely when I asked him.

Such a lovely day. The birds were all singing fit to bust...

This is the bottom of the Golden Mile. Ziggy anticipated a run and started to trot before I asked, so we stopped and took a picture before continuing at a canter.

Unfortunately just around the corner was a big young horse coming cautiously DOWN! Ah well, it gave me a chance to check that the brakes were working.
I have to do a little roadwork every time for his feet, so we pootled for 5 minutes along the lane:

And then down one of my favourite sections, the Sheepwalk:

Time for another little canter before stopping to enjoy the views from the top. To the north:

To the south:

Just me and my pony, bliss. He was good as gold, and I don't seem to have suffered any ill effects, either mental or physical, from being trodden on!
