So i was talking to one of the liveries last night and she asked if i knew of anything that will get her arabs tail white, so i said i would find out and this is when i need your help.

Any ideas on getting a horses tail white?

thanks laurenx

As the owner of a grey with a white tail I'll be watching this thread with interest!

I've been told to try Vanish spray. I've already tried a little squirt on the ends of her tail to try and it looks promising.

Also I've been told to put a small capful of purple spray in the final rinse water - older readers will remember the blue dolly bags, and it's supposed to work on the same principal.

Fairy Liquid:D

I use 'Cowboy Magic' shampoo, it is called 'stain in yellow out'

£8 a bottle, it is a bright blue jelly and you wash it until the suds are white and the blue has disapeared, it is amazing stuff x

Look at it on Google.

Fairy liquid/Vanish/Oxy all failed me, but Cowboy magic gets my yellow horse white.

i cheat altogether. A pot of chalk powder, mix with water into a paste, rub on and brush out when dry... Pony glows! Cant link to photo as on mobile, but there may be some of our photoshoot in our albums.

Sorry I somehow missed this thread :o

Bit late but will add my thoughts!

I wash my mares white tail in fairy liquid, then after rinsing dunk tail in bucket of cold water with some purple spray! Not sure on quantities of purple spray i guess - worst case scenario is tail with a purple hue :D

I would be cautious about usng some of the chemical/detergent products as arabs tails are delicate and hard to keep decent!!

bit late but we wash daily before a show - just to the dock - ie only the bottom - using ariel gel - which is why we only do the bottom!

then for a few days before we use cowboy magic

and then the day before the show we use cowboy magic on whole tail followed by quic silver

seems to turn orange tail white again!
