It's not often us teachers git gifts, but today i was presented with a beautiful box of Thornton's chocolates, all gift wrapped, and a lovely card. these were from a girl whom i taught up until april (ours sit their 'standard grades' then). I was very touched as i'm new to my profession and it's lovely to get affirmation from my kids that i'm doing things right. However, my dilema is do i share my gift with the other staff members? A couple of other teachers got given boxes of roses and left them in our lunch area for the rest of us to have. But, there are 13 staff and my box has only 15 chocolates in it - not really many left for me
what would you do? i kinda feel that my pupil gave them to me for my help, it wasn't a whole staff thing it was I that was teaching her. Am happy to (and frequently do!) buy cakes for the staffroom but wasn't sure if i should keep my choccies to myself? (can you tell i've a sweet tooth...?!
